Guys, just because there is naked skin in it does not mean that it's ALL ABOUT the naked skin. Just because there is no clothing does not mean this is more or less valuable than any other photograph. I hate how some people automatically say that something is a lame shot of someone's ass just because they can't handle a bit of skin. I like the lighting in this photo, the expression, and the pose of the model. To me, it looks like a lot more than "just another nude attention whore" and like a photograph that could have an actual story behind it. He's not even showing anything for chrissakes. XD
If you cannot handle mature content maturely, use a filter, seriously. (Although I don't even want to consider this mature content. A naked body does not automatically equal to anything wrong creepy sinful inappropriate, or whatever else people want to label it.)
It's refreshing to see artistic, beautiful photography that captures the exceptional male form. Don't get me wrong--I'm fan of the female form, but it's good to see the male body get some recognition and love, too.
The body is an amazing thing to look at... maybe not ALL of them, but there are some out there. As a Massage Therapist, I had to learn a lot out the body, how it functions and the muscles that move it. So when I see a naked body I don't see nudity, but the workings that lay beneath. Plus I agree with ~fire-wolves67. Don't Like? Don't Click. Don't Flame. It's not constructive.
I kinda agree. I posted a journal about deviantart "boobies of the day" policy and now they have some guy doing the silence o the lambs pose. I get that nudity is art but shouldn't there be more to it than just nudity? Like an artistic twist or something. I don't knock anyone's opinion of what is art, I just question the need to have nudity in every single day's list of daily deviations. There cant possibly be that many artistic naked shots that outweigh something someone spent hours or days drawing or painting. So many deserving artists get pushed aside for something that takes five seconds and some brass balls to produce.
In this particular shot, I think it's less about the nakedness and more about the fact that this photo is significantly more tasteful than 90% out there (in my humble opinion.) There is something in the soft lighting and the angle that makes it appealing to look at, and his expression and pose make me think of a soft story behind the photo somehow. By your logic, NO photos should get DDs because they don't involve sitting for 3 weeks on a canvas. Just because there is no clothing does not mean this is more or less valuable than any other photograph. It's simply a matter of our subjective artistic preferences.
Every gallery with a volunteer can receive a Daily Deviation. However, community volunteers are only responsible for their specific galleries. IE, all I feature is art nude and fetish photography. So my featuring this image did not "push aside" any other piece of art. If you don't like it, please, turn on your mature content filter - YOU don't see the art in this. Many other people did. FAQ #93:How does the Mature Content option work?
Yeah, I just really think nudity is an art, just it's non...artistic...like,we know you can take your clothes off...you gonna give me anything else? can you draw? sing the alphabet? nudity photos are like proving you cant do anything but show off your ass...it gives the person who loaded the photo seem like they aren't smart enough to think of something other than a naked person...no creativity... :/ just saying. may not be true always...but sometimes...
